The SwiMP3 v2 underwater MP3 player is an incredible audio experience. Imagine listening to hours of your own music during your swim workout. The SwiMP3’s innovative sound transfer technology offers exception underwater sound quality. Standard players rely on the transmission of sound through air or water causing the swimmer to perceive only muffled noise. The SwiMP3 uses bone conduction – the direct transfer of sound vibrations from the cheek bone to the inner ear – to provide the swimmer with exceptional sound clarity. The SwiMP3 is fully waterproof and can be used with all the competitive swim strokes. How Does It Work? The new SwiMP3 is revolutionary in that it relies on bone conduction of sound. When the device is placed on any bones of the skull (i.e. the cheek bones or the mastoid tip) it leads to vibration of the fluid in the inner ear. Thus swimmers can enjoy clarity of sound with the SwiMP3 device that was never before possible. Bone conduction hearing is a safe well-established hearing mechanism in humans that the SwiMP3 player leverages to enhance aquatic activity. Finis’s application of the technology brings an entirely new level of experience to swimmers either while working out or taking a leisurely swim. Bone conduction hearing is essentially an ancient sensory capability that the new SwiMP3 leverages to enhance the experience of swimmers triathletes surfers synchronized swimmers and anyone involved in general water activities. It is a safe proven technology that the SwiMP3 offers to the wide audience of aquatic athletes. PC and Mac Compatible 1GB Rechargable Battery Supported Formats: MP3

M. Dick says:

Performs swimmingly A great device. Listenable quality audio whilst swimming. I have used it two months. Transformed my swimming. I used to do 50 lengths a session because I felt better after and thought it did me good. Did not really enjoy the experience though and felt tired by the end. Now I do 85-100 lenghts and bounce along. I feel its cheating. The memory is not great, the MP3 functions basic. Not easy to adjust once in the water. All this is third-order importance. It delivers what it promises and at least for me adds hugely to my enjoyment. First product review I have ever written but felt compelled to tell people.

Mr. Jonathan Oliver Hyde says:

Good swimming mp3 player with minor annoyances I’ve had the swimp3 v2 player since December 2008 and have used it around 5 times so far on particularly long distance swims. It really does work well once you get it into position. The ear pieces clip onto your goggle straps and sit vertically just over your temples – right in-between the goggle and your ear. Once I’d tightened up my goggle straps, the system stayed in place and enabled me to do 1500m sets without having to stop to adjust it.There are just three buttons to operate the device – on/off and skip forward/back which also doubles as a volume control. This means that you can quickly and easily control the device, which is important when you can’t see what you are doing. The sound quality is impressive given that you’re in a pool, thrashing around. OK it’s not quite like sitting on the bus listening to your ipod through sennheisers, but it’s not far off. The sound has more treble than you’d usually go for, but you can hear the tracks…
